Children on the Island of Mindanao must leave school at least by age 12, and in most cases, by 7 or 8 years old in order to help feed their families. Even children as young as 5 must go to work! Their daily earnings? 50 cents. This 50 cents is the difference between survival and starvation in the community of Kabasalan. A meager amount of $156 a YEAR, plus the $100 needed for school supplies and enrollment keeps a Filipino child from dreaming. Where children cannot dream the people are condemned to poverty. The future of a nation will remain impoverished and bleak.
A hand full of purchases at www.PhilippineKids.org WILL help change the future of a nation!
Every dollar of your purchase, except shipping costs, will go DIRECTLY to the children that are enrolled in the program through our Philippine constituents.
OR,
You can directly sponsor a child! For just $21.35 a month for five years you will send a 12 year old girl or boy (YOUR choice) through middle school and high school!
In addition, you will receive a photo AND mailing address so that you can keep in touch, making sure your kid is doing his/her homework!
Yes, this is a program based on Christian principles, but not on religious ones. We are focused on sending children to public schools and providing food to impoverished families. We have no agenda other then humanitarian assistance!
